Privacy
This page explains what CrownMyGame collects, why, and how long we keep it.
When you vote
To allow one vote per game per day and to stop fraud, we record each vote with: the game, the time, a salted hash of your network address (we do not store the address itself), a hash of your wider network range, a random device id kept in a cookie, your account if you are signed in, the country your request came from, the website you came from (host name only), and the player id from the game's vote link if there was one. The player id is shared only with that game, so it can reward you.
We use a captcha from Cloudflare (Turnstile) on every vote. Cloudflare processes your request to tell people from bots under its own privacy policy.
When you create an account
We store your email address, display name and a one-way hash of your password. Signed-in visits use a session cookie. Your display name, the games you voted for and your voting streak appear on your public profile.
Game owners
We store your listings, vote-reward settings and delivery logs, and contact you by email about reviews and problems with your listing.
Reminders
If you turn on vote reminders, your browser gives us a push address that we use only to tell you when a vote is ready. Turning reminders off deletes it.
Counting views
We count how often listings and ads are seen and clicked, once per visitor per hour, using the same anonymous device id. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Cookies
We use two: a device id for fair voting, and a session cookie when you sign in. Neither is used for advertising. Blocking them stops voting and signing in from working.
How long we keep it
Votes are kept to run the rankings and their history. Your account data is kept until you ask us to delete your account, after which we remove your email and name and keep your past votes only in anonymous form.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data by emailing [email protected].
